Painting on a Sunday

Today Jeremy was working some more overtime, so
Owen and I decided to do some painting for the grandparents!
I had some left over door hangers and thought it would be fun to
do together. He had so much fun and he loved wearing Jeremys
shirt too! Thankfully we had just cleaned out our closets and
found some treasures that work perfect for painting!

Owen kept telling me how cool he thought it
was and how much grandma was going to like it!
He was very proud of himself when he was all done. I think I will start taking him to Roberts or Michaels and let him pick out something to paint for every holiday. He was so entertained! Owen is not big on coloring so I wasnt sure how this would go but it was a hit!

I also wanted to tell a little story about the other day when I went to walmart.
After dropping off Owen at preschool I went and did my shopping. I finished and was making my way out to my car. Well I got to where i had parked and I noticed this guy collecting carts. I didnt think much of it until i noticed he was waiting for my cart. He was 2 cars down from me at the place you leave your carts. He didnt offer to help me unload them or anything and when i took another glance at hime i noticed he was special needs. I remeber thinking to myself ok he is just going to wait and thats fine. So i hurried and unloaded my things. I finished and pushed the cart towards him saying" here you go, thank you." He said something to me but i thought it was just your welcome or something to that effect. I was walking to get in my car and heard him say something else. I turned and he had  a recipt in his hands. I told him thats not my recipt and he said he needed my recipt! I told him " no i need it its mine" To which he said, " just hand it over"
Well then i was a little panicked and had he not been special I would have started screaming or something. I just told him againg firmly No i need it. So i get in my car thinking its over and he comes to my window and is tapping on the glass and trying to get in my door! I was in thing fight or flight mode and i didnt really know what was going on. I told him no throught the glass of my window again and backed up super slow with him holding onto my car handle the whole time!
I made sure he was behind me a few feet and then I was outta there! I was really shaken up by it. It after thought though I realize he may have just thought I had dropped something or stolen something I suppose. Had I been more brave I would have gotten out of my car and walked back in to tell someone in charge that he needed a little more supervision.
I dont know what to make of it know. Guess I will never know what he really was after.
So i ask all you girls out there what would you do?

Fun painting. My kids love to paint too, although Boyce isn't nearly as into it as Naomi is. Maybe it's a boy thing?

I think you handled the thing at WalMart perfectly, but that's still kind of scary. Did you call and let the manager know? They would probably appreciate it, as would the people who likely coordinate that person's placement at WalMart. They need to protect customers, but they also need to protect the employees.

I think I would probably call back and talk to the manager just to make sure he is aware of it. That is scary for someone to be trying to get into your car, no matter who they are. Good job. It is always hard to know what to do.

Oh Nicole that is totally awkward! I think you did a good job. I wouldn't know exactly what to do either. Probably the same thing.
